wow...that code is really messy, but the site looks great!
i'm not entirely sure which boxes you're talking about either. html code really isn't all that scary in fact. once you know a few basic tags and such it's pretty easy. like here's the code to make a really basic page that says "hello world" in helvetica, size 5, green, and centered. oh, and with a title.
<html>
<head>
<title>Hi</title>
</head>
<body>
<center>
<font face="helvetica" size="5" color="green">Hello World</font>
</center>
</body>
</html>
the <html> tag tells the browser to start an html document, the <head> tells it that there's information about the page that won't be displayed in the page, the <title> opens a tag that says what to display in the title bar, the </title> says that the title is finished. the </head> says that the info about the page is done. the <body> tells what to display, basically. the <center> tells it to center the following info, the <font> tag, along with the attributes face, size, and color, and the values helvetica, 5, and green tell it how to style the text. "Hellow World" tells it the text to display. </font> tells it that that's the end of the text styled that way. </center> stops text after that from being centered, </body> ends the main info, and </html> closes the document. in general to open a tag it goes like <tag> and to close it it's <tag> and to define attributes and values it's <tag attribute="value"> and then </tag> there are, of course, exceptions...
knowing the basics of the code and such can really help you simplify the code that golive generates, and a lot of things are easier, imo, to do by hand than in golive. link targets, for example. for the life of me i cant figure out how to get a link to open in an iframe in golive without going into the source...:rolleyes:
sorry for the long post :o

Thanks for your replies.
I'd kind of like to do it all myself but am also interested by the blog option. Are there free blog hosting and domains out there which will give me the required options?
Thanks,

you should check out phpmailer (http://phpmailer.worxware.com/). I use it if I need to have an email form and it works really well.

Try resetting the PRAM
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
6. Release the keys.
On a side note. You should never install a developer preview as your primary OS.
thank you soo much dude!!
oh, will this erase anything?
and do u no how i can get snow leopard back?

I have read all the threads, links, and intimations. Some of the links are a bit dated.
What is the best format to record video on that plays nicely with the MAC?
I need to shoot some video content for my website and get it edited up for use.
Thanks.

So he got pricked by a cock? This will be hard on his family; I hope they have the tools to deal with it. It's never easy when you lose a family member.

I have been using a that crucial stick in my 15" pb and my wife in her 12" ibook. both have been running great. Just my opinion, but I would recomend getting mac certified.

This is all interesting news.
I may have to try folding on my Macbook C2D! I am not a big production output guy, and my G5 has been down and out of folding to save on power, and wear ;) .

They are backed up on DVD-R's and on a FW Hard Drive (and on my iPod). Maybe too many backups :)
you can never have too many!
Just watch-- the DVD-Rs will be scratched, the FW hard drive will have some... malady, and you'll be left with your iPod. crazy go nuts!
Enjoy your new iPod. :)

I thought you could JB the iPhone and then use an app called MiFi (or somethinlg) and create a hot spot that the iPad (1st or 2nd Gen) could use.
I am losing my work provided cellphone and i was thinking about an iPhone for doing just that.

someone submitted a track off this album to DailyTunes a while back, and I refused to post it thinking it was a joke, like the person who submitted a track from the fart album. Agreed, it's different, but not in a good way. This album is a prime example of a middle-aged person living in mom's basement and collecting computer parts and recording equipment. Now he has an outlet for selling the 'songs' to fund his growing collection. :D

i find it very funny that some scientists have actually stated that we are in a mini iceage and that the earth has gotten colder over the past 6000 years but now after ten years of it getting minutely hotter its turned into......OMFGBBQ!!!one11

I had one dead pixel on my old Sony Vaio which was stuck bright and it was really annoying, even on a 1024x768 11" screen. That one doesn't seem nearly as bad.
Apple is not going to replace it with one bad pixel...

Its not a defect, its a "feature" of 4.2 ... they've reduce the power to the port from 100 ma to 20 ma. This is to stop people using things Apple dont like in the port (USB drives, keyboards etc), but its also stopped compatibility with half of the SD cards in the world.
There own camera connection kit is now fatally flawed under this update. Bad Apple.

There were only two or three simulations worth 1700 points and they're not PS3 WUs. A C2D can handle one of the big mothers in a little over a day. The PS3 is currenlty chomping on some ~300 pt WUs that take between 6-8 hours to wrap up.My C2D at work is taking 25 hours for a WU that is only worth 186, this is per core. So the PS3 is way more powerfull, but what do you want with 7 cores, each 3.2 GHZ and working together on one WU.

There shouldn't be any qualitative difference btwn DV files imported on older / newer machines and the import from tape is in real-time, so an old machine will crank away just as well as anything. The new machine will make a big difference when actually transcoding, editing, and exporting.
Seconded. No need to wait.

okay, so i get an error from folding on my mac pro. looking at the log file, it gets done folding, or at 99%, and then it gets an error, and quits that work unit and downloads another unit, and starts with that one.
anyone ever run into this before?
also, i have 2 different Leopard installations on 2 different hard drives in the mac. would this possibly mess something up?
